Preparing for your microdermabrasion

Hydrolux microdermabrasion is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure. Before undergoing this treatment, you should discuss your concerns with our skincare professionals to find out if Hydrolux microdermabrasion is right for you. You should mention any past cosmetic procedures or surgeries, as well as medical conditions and allergies.

During your initial consultation, we might tell you to avoid tanning creams, waxing and sun exposure for around a week before Hydrolux microdermabrasion. We might also recommend avoiding exfoliating creams and masks for about three days before the treatment.

On the day of the treatment, please remove any makeup you might be wearing and cleanse your face properly.

Microdermabrasion aftercare

Common side effects of microdermabrasion include mild swelling, bruising, tenderness, and redness. We recommend you keep your skin hydrated afterwards with moisturiser and gentle skincare products; this can help minimise dry and flaky skin.

After Hydrolux microdermabrasion, your skin can become more sensitive to the sun. So, we recommend avoiding sun exposure and protecting your skin with sunscreen during the weeks following treatment.

Hydrolux microdermabrasion shows results immediately after the procedure. This is a temporary treatment, so the number of sessions needed for lasting results varies from person-to-person it will also depend on the severity of your skin concerns. We can recommend the number of sessions required for your particular circumstance during consultation.
