Using a focused approach and deep tissue, soft tissue, stretches, facsia release and/or mobilisation, your therapist will work to release tension held in the structures of the body to aid in the restoration and healthy function of muscles, fascia, and connective tissues. It can be particularly effective where a remedial approach to injury or pain would be beneficial. Your therapist will discuss any specific area of concerns with you prior to your treatment.

In addition to relaxation, and muscular pain reduction, a remedial massage also increases blood flow and mobility and encourages the release of endorphins and decreases stress hormones, which can improve your immune system’s capabilities and overall wellbeing.

Dry needling can be included in a Remedial Massage treatment with Yumiko. When dry needling is applied to an affected muscle or trigger point, it can decrease muscle tightness, increase blood flow and reduce pain.

A deep tissue massage is used to treat musculoskeletal issues. The therapist will apply sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues. It is used to treat muscle pain and stiffness from everyday issues to sports injuries. The technique encourages blood flow which helps to loosen tight muscles and relax trigger points that cause knots and pulled muscles. This makes deep tissue massage great for rehabilitation and recovery from exercise or physical stress and strain, making it an ideal sports recovery and/or performance massage.

Similar to deep tissue massage, bamboo has the ability to release tension in major muscles through intensive kneading. It is especially effective for runners and cyclists experiencing tightness in their legs, feet and IT bands as it softens and breaks down muscular tensions. It can enhance sports performance and endurance with just a few sessions.

Craniosacral massage is a gentle non-invasive massage that uses light touch to release tension from the body’s connective tissue (fascia) providing both relief and deep relaxation. Before your craniosacral massage, your therapist will discuss your specific requirements and needs. During the treatment you stay fully clothed so make sure you arrive in comfortable clothing. You can combine a craniosacral massage with a remedial massage and claim it on HICAPS.

A reflexology massage is based on the principle that certain parts of the body reflect the whole. Reflex points, which relate to all parts of the body, can be found in the feet, hands, face and ears. Pressure is put on theses points, that correspond to organs and areas of the body stimulating the body’s own natural healing process. The treatment is said to induce a healing response, even alleviating some ailments.

You can also add half an hour of foot reflexology onto any massage treatment.

Our therapists offer a gentle relaxing pregnancy massage for our clients at this special time in your life.  In addition to it just feeling good, our technique is helpful in reducing stress, swelling in the arms and legs and relieving muscle and joint pain.

A face massage provides lymphatic draining and deep release from pressure points on your face. This also includes a head, neck and shoulder massage to ease tension, stimulate the nervous system, increase blood flow and ease stress.
